District-Wide Geography Bee

In January, 2009, fourth and fifth grade students in each elementary school across the district, participated in The National Geographic Geography Bee, sponsored by the National Geographic Society.

The school-level Bee, at which students answered oral questions on geography, was the first round in the 21st annual National Geographic Bee. All 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners from the National Bee at each elementary school, competed in the W.I.S.E. District~wide Geography Bee on Thursday, February 26th.

It was an exciting night for all as the questions got more and more challenging!  The three top winners won gift certificates to Barnes and Noble generously supplied from the PTA.
