The School Food Service program, operating on a self-sustaining basis, provides breakfast at the High School and full hot and cold lunches in all elementary and secondary schools. A monthly menu lists the daily lunch offerings, which include a choice of entrees, one-half pint of milk, vegetables, salads, fruits and desserts.
The West Islip Public Schools believe that one of the most important ways in which we can help our children perform better in their classrooms is to provide them with the nutrition necessary for the healthy growth of their minds and bodies. Therefore, we provide lunch in our schools every day.
We invite all students to show their support for their school food service program through frequent participation. Students may buy lunch for $1.50 in elementary schools or $2.00 in secondary schools. The cost of 20 elementary meals is $30.00 and the cost of 20 secondary meals is $40.00. The elementary year plan is $265.50 and the secondary year plan is $352.00. A monthly menu lists the daily lunch offerings, which include a choice of entrees, sandwiches, milks, fruits and vegetables
